Manifest

Running in Olten is a team sport.

The Aare Run Club is Olten's open run club. Started by one person who was tired of running alone. Today we're a crew of beginners, marathoners and everyone in between.

No sign-up, no membership, no personal best required. All you need is shoes and the willingness to grab a coffee in the old town afterwards, still sweaty.

Just show
up.

We run every Sunday, starting Sunday 23 August 2026. Before each run, join our Strava club. It's non-binding and just helps everyone keep track of who's coming and see the next date. New here? Just turn up ten minutes early and say hi.

Run for a reason.

On Saturday 19 September 2026 we run the 39th Oltner 2-Stunden-Lauf together as one ARC group. Every kilometre counts — one third of what our team raises goes to Born To Help Others, the other two thirds to the official o2h charity projects.

Questions

Quickly cleared up.

Who are we? +

Two friends who love running, and who know the problem of running alone all too well. We want to give Olten a new space for sport and friendship, and turn solo miles into shared ones.

Am I too slow for you? +

No. The Sunday run is conversational pace: if you can't talk anymore, you're going too fast. Nobody gets left behind, that's the one rule we actually mean.

Does it cost anything to join? +

No. The club is free and stays free. For the odd special event we might collect a small voluntary contribution, always transparent, never required.

How do I take part? +

Just come ten minutes before the start at the old bridge. We're happy if you join our Strava club so we get an overview of who's coming, but it's not required. Turning up is all it takes.

How do we handle short-notice changes? +

Everything runs through Instagram and our Strava club. If a run moves, gets a new time, or is called off because of a storm, we post it on our Instagram story and in the Strava club. Follow both and you'll always know before you head out.
